Couple’s Outfit Guide

Welcome to the in depth outfit guide to help you look your best for your session with me! Remember, this is only a guide so don’t let it ultimately dictate what you wear and alter who you are. This is intended to help determine a complimenting aesthetic while keeping you feeling your best.

Comfort vs. Looks

Sometimes Buying that super pretty outfit that looks amazing in photos isn’t the most comfy thing to wear. If you’re not feeling comfortable in your clothes, chances are you’re going to look pretty uncomfortable. Make sure what you wear is something that is comfortable and represents who you are. This can be dresses, denim, or even a basic t-shirt! And no heels unless you can walk a couple miles in them and still look flawless.

Color Choices

I typically recommend people to lean towards neutrals, earthy tones, and metallics and to stay away from bright colors. This doesn’t mean just creams and browns and grays. There are neutrals for every single color! Instead of green, go for a soft forest green. Instead of red, go with a deep maroon. Instead of yellow, go for a mustard yellow, and so on. I’ve prepared a few swatch pallets to help show you some colors that will look pleasing in most environments!

Options

I always have my couples bring options so that they don’t show up to a shoot with just one outfit, because what happens if the outfit isn’t that great for where we are at? Then you’re stuck with it and can’t do anything about. That doesn’t mean an entire wardrobe, it can mean layers and accessories too! And ladies, please make sure your gents bring a decent pair of shoes! Nothing can break an image like a bomb outfit with some neon green running shoes.

Props + Accessories

I always Encourage accessories! I love when couples bring hats, sunglasses, scarves, jewelry, etc because it adds more interest to the outfit rather than being too plain. The only accessory I don’t encourage are overly bulky watches, since when couples hold each other’s faces, it’s a big circle that is super distracting.
